In the world of bodybuilding supplements and bodybuilding diet go hand in hand. Sometimes supplements are needed for bodybuilders to acquire the body that they desire and supplements are beneficial to maintain peak condition.

There are LIST of important bodybuilding supplements that are essential for amateur and professional bodybuilders in order to reach their bodybuilding goals.

1.BCAA: The term “BCAA” stands for Branched Chain Amino Acids. The branched chain amino acids include valine, leucine and isoleucine. Branched chain amino acids are an important supplement for bodybuilders because they assist in workout recovery, encourage muscle strength and stimulate muscle growth.

2.CLA: CLA stands for Conjugated linoleic acid. CLA can be acquired from most high quality foods but sometimes a CLA supplement may be needed. CLA is an important supplement for most bodybuilders because it helps to reduce body fat and is one of the most popular and safest thermogenics available. CLA also assists in the rebuilding of healthy muscle tissue.

3.CREATINE: Creatine is one of the most bodybuilding supplements with heaviest scientific backing. It has been in use for decades, helping bodybuilders have more energy available for weightlifting, lift longer and heavier, and recover faster.
The Creatine Supplement Range:

  • Pure creatine, as either creatine monohydrate, micronized creatine, creatine citrate and creatine phosphate

6.OMEGA FATTY ACIDS: Omega Fatty Acids are a must when undergoing any bodybuilding regimen. Not only do omega fatty acids assist in the rebuilding of healthy muscle tissue, they also lubricate painful joints, diminish delayed onset muscle soreness and help decrease an individual’s body fat percentage while being beneficial for cardiovascular health. Omega fatty acids are also great for improving mood and lowering instances of aggression.

7.PROTEIN: Protein is a staple supplement to every bodybuilder out there or, at least it should be. Hydrolysate protein absorbs quickly into the muscles, so it is best to take this protein supplement right after an intense workout, and has a great amino acid profile. Soy protein is available for bodybuilders that mostly consume a vegetarian diet. Soy protein is heart healthy, helps aid muscle recovery and is also good for speeding up an individual’s metabolism. Why concentrate is an inexpensive form of protein and highly popular amongst bodybuilders and non-bodybuilders alike. This form of whey protein has an impressive amino acid profile and is easily absorbed into the muscles. Whey isolate is well-known as one of the fastest absorbed supplements on the market. It is also extremely low in carbohydrates and sugars.

8.SELENIUM: Selenium is a mineral that is not only beneficial for bodybuilders, but for all human beings. Selenium contains important antioxidants that the body needs in order to remove harmful toxins from the body’s organs and muscles. Selenium lowers the risks of most cancers and illnesses, helps enhance the body’s immune system and removes free radicals from the body. Selenium is also great for improving energy levels while performing athletic activities.

9.THERMOGENICS: A thermogenic is a fat burner. Thermogenics are one of the most popular supplements for bodybuilders. One of the most popular types of fat burners available is caffeine. Caffeine is a popular thermogenic because it is easy to obtain and very cost-effective. Fat burners work by increasing an individual’s metabolism. Studies have been conducted that show that fat burners support energy levels, mental acuity and athletic performance. Other thermogenics that are used are capsaicin, carnitine, ephedra and ginseng.

10.ZINC: Zinc is one of the most underutilized supplements for bodybuilding. Zinc is important because it boosts the body’s immune system, which assists in the prevention of most illnesses and helpful in increasing an individual’s stamina.


Although ingesting high quality foods, ample rest and consistent, intense workouts are required in order to attain your bodybuilding goals, bodybuilding supplements are sometimes needed in order to take a person to the next level.
