Liquid Diet Plans for Bodybuilding, Strength & Weight loss
There are several reasons to consume a liquid diet: to let the internal organs of digestion “rest,” or as a prelude to a weight loss program or deliver nutrients fast to the body. As you notice bodybuilders will promote the use of protein powders, along with additional liquid supplements, to round out their program. It is curious why bodybuilders have long supported this method of supplement delivery, however, upon further research and exploration, it is easy to see that these supplements, when ingested in liquid form, are digested more quickly, allowing the bodybuilder to target nutrients to each individual workout.
Bodybuilders have a long history of maintaining a healthy diet, and many diet programs today follow a few of the basic principles of a Bodybuilding Diet, such as six-eight mini meals, moderate carbohydrate intake, a liquid diet and keeping food journal.
See below most popular liquid diet meals:
Protein Powder Shakes
Bodybuilders and athletes in general know they can consume liquid drinks that provide ample protein supply. Protein powders, as a nutritional supplement made into a shake – are essential and conventional liquid meal.
You can buy protein powders in every nutrition store and all over the Internet. You can even find pre-mixed, ready-to-drink protein shakes in many stores. But are protein powders just for bodybuilders, or can the average everyday athlete benefit from them as well? Protein powders come in various forms. The three common ones are whey, soy, and casein protein. Whey is the most commonly used, because it’s a water-soluble milk protein, it’s also a complete protein, so it’s got all those advantages. Complete proteins contain all nine of the amino acids necessary for human dietary needs. People who are vegan may prefer soy protein, although its taste is sometimes considered to be more unpleasant, and it doesn’t dissolve as well in water.
Protein powders also come with widely varying price tags. For the casual athlete who doesn’t have a specific need at a certain time of their training, the cost is not that important, so if you’re going to use them, you can get pretty much the same benefit out of the less expensive, more commercially available proteins.
In very specific circumstances, protein powders can be useful. They’re an easy and convenient source of complete, high-quality protein, but note: Most people, even athletes, can also get everything they offer by eating sources of lean protein like meat, fish, chicken, and dairy products.
So when might you want to use them? There are a few reasons why an ordinary athlete might want more extra protein in their diet:
- When you’re growing. A teenager needs more protein to fuel his workouts because his body is still growing and uses more protein in general.
- When you’re starting a program. If working out is new to you and you’re trying to build muscle, you’ll require more protein than you normally would.
- When you’re increasing your workouts. If you normally work out for half an hour a few times a week, but now you’ve decide to train for a half-marathon, your body will need more protein.
- When you’re recovering from an injury. Athletes with sports injuries frequently need more protein to help them heal.
- If you’re going vegan. People who pursue a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle eliminate a number of common protein sources from their diet, including meat, chicken, and fish, and sometimes dairy and eggs as well.
Yogurt Smoothies – Natural Protein Source
Bodybuilders and athletes might consume blender drinks made from non-fat Greek yogurt, which has 23 grams of protein per cup, and add a small banana for potassium for only 40 calories and even add protein powder made from pea and brown rice protein that can provide 17 to 22 or more grams of additional protein. Note: Not everyone will need this much protein: only those who have specific high-protein requirements do, but specially bodybuilders and weight lifters. See our list above.
Raw Blended Meals
Although it does not sound as appetizing, it is possible to make a nutrient-dense liquid diet by pulverizing almost any combination of preferably raw foods in a blender or similar appliance. For example, blending whole vegetables, fruits and nuts and nut milks will yield a drink providing vitamins, minerals, protein and fiber. An example is blending a medium apple with 10 almonds that were soaked overnight, a small date, half a cup of green curly kale or spinach and enough almond, rice or hemp seed milk of water to thin to desired consistency. The idea with a liquid diet is to vary what is consumed to provide as much nutrition as possible with each liquid meal.
Do not use Tropical Fruits for blending if you on the weight loss program, they contain a lot of sugar. We recommend to opt for frozen or fresh FOREST berries instead: blueberry, mulberry, cranberry, raspberry….They contain minimum sugar and lots of super powerful nutrients.

Fruit, Berries and Vegetable Juices for Weight Loss and Fast Nutrients Delivery
A liquid diet for weight loss for anyone or bodybuilders in the pre – competition rapid fat loss cycle could include fresh green vegetable (broccoli, asparagus, spinach) and some not sweet fruits juices in moderation. One liquid diet may comprise of drinking alternating fresh papaya and apple juices with lemon and sometime vinegar throughout the day for up to four or five days. Apple juice can help soften stool for a colon cleanse, and papaya juice has bromelain that can assist digestion. Both provide vitamin C and calories. We recommend consume water as needed between the fruit juices.
Do not use Tropical Fruits for juicing if you on the weight loss program, they contain a lot of sugar. Use green color as guide to get less sugar to your juice. Think about lime or green apple or….even a green broccoli juice!
